IRClass Academy Signs Strategic MoUs with Three Premier Universities to Advance India's Maritime Ecosystem

In a major push to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, IRClass Academy, the training arm of the Indian Register of Shipping, signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maha Kaushal University. This partnership aims to redefine professional skill development by fostering joint academic and professional programmes. By bringing together academic excellence and practical industry expertise, both institutions are committed to nurturing skilled, competent, and future-ready professionals, ultimately contributing to the development of a stronger and more sustainable maritime ecosystem in India.

Expanding its training footprint into specialized domains, IRClass Academy also partnered with the School of Integrated Coastal and Maritime Security Studies (SICMSS) at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU). This collaboration is set to deliver cutting-edge maritime training specifically designed for defence and law enforcement personnel. By combining the deep domain expertise of the Indian Register of Shipping with RRU’s advanced 360-degree Bridge Simulator, the alliance will offer immersive, scenario-based training in navigation, bridge operations, and critical decision-making to build a safer, more secure, and technologically resilient maritime sector.

Furthering its commitment to capacity building, IRClass Academy signed a third MoU with Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) to drive knowledge exchange and professional development across the sector. This partnership successfully combines GMU’s specialization in maritime education, law, and policy with IRClass Academy’s extensive industry experience. Together, the institutions will focus on joint programmes, research, and capacity-building initiatives, ensuring the continuous development of highly skilled, industry-ready professionals equipped to lead India's future maritime ecosystem.
