Course Objective

To enable the participants to have a general awareness of the role of Classification society in ship building and an overall understanding of the shipbuilding process, covering activities of Hull, Machinery and Electrical; Welding, NDT as well as various tests and trails associated with it.  Participants will have a holistic picture of ship construction and be able to appreciate each other’s work and support the common shipyard goal of qualitative & timely ship construction.

About the course

The session is curated for classroom delivery mode and built around practical examples, different activities involved in ship construction, their sequence and significance, checks and controls to be effected, responsibilities of different stakeholders, etc. The session is meant to be highly interactive and hand hold participants from different disciplines.

Fresh Graduate and Diploma engineers relatively new to shipbuilding Industry, Mechanical, Electrical engineers with about 10 yrs shipyard experience as well as supervisors, foreman etc.
