About the course

This comprehensive five-day training programme provides an in-depth understanding of methanol as an alternative marine fuel and cargo. The course focuses on the physical and chemical properties of methanol, cargo handling systems, bunkering operations, emergency preparedness, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance. Through structured classroom instruction and extensive simulator training, participants gain the competencies required for safe operation aboard methanol-fuelled and methanol-carrying vessels.

The programme integrates theoretical knowledge with practical simulator-based exercises covering cargo loading and discharge, emergency shutdown systems, fire and gas detection, spill response, medical emergencies, and environmental management. Participants will develop operational confidence and regulatory awareness aligned with IMO, MARPOL, STCW, and industry best practices.
