Hull of the platform support vessel “MAKALU” Hull number 113, (hull being fabricated at Cemre Shipyard, Turkey) was launched on 09^th Feb 2013. The vessel is contracted by M/S Global Offshore Services Limited and is expected to be delivered in July 2013.

The vessel is of steel construction, with an overall length of  80.00 m, breadth 17.65 m and depth 7.70 m, with a gross tonnage of 2829 and deadweight 4000 Tonnes.

The vessel is designed to operate with machinery spaces unattended and is capable of attaining a speed of 14 Knots. The total complement of the vessel will be 26 persons.

Diesel electric propulsion will be employed with four engines amounting to a total power of 4852 KW running two Azimuth thrusters. The vessel will comply with DP2 requirements of IRS and is being built to dual class of IRS and DNV.
