Subject : Belize Flag on Concentrated inspection campaign (CIC) by Tokyo and the Paris MoU on Fire Safety beginning from 1st September 2023 and ending on 30th November 2023.

1. Reference is made to Technical Circular No. 21/2023, dated 07 August 2023 Reg. Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) by Tokyo and the Paris MoU on Fire Safety beginning from 1st September 2023 and ending on 30th November 2023.

2. In this regard, Belize Flag Administration, vide Merchant Marine Notice MMN-23-002 has provided following instructions:

a. For all Vessels currently trading within the Tokyo and Paris MOUs, ISM operators need to contact the Master in order to complete the questionnaire to be used by PSCOs. The completed questionnaire, duly signed/stamped by the Master is to be submitted by ISM operators to IMMARBE’s Technical Department at (technicalservies@immarbe.com) not later than 31 August 2023.

b. Verification of compliance to CIC questionnaire will be carried out during Annual Flag Inspections to ensure that ship condition and crew onboard comply with the questions to be asked by PSCOs.

c. Recognized Organizations that will carry out any statutory surveys from 1 August 2023, the CIC questionnaire will be carried out in conjunction with the applicable surveys on all Belize Vessels. Recognized Organizations to ensure that Flag Administration is informed immediately of any deficiency found in relation to the CIC questionnaire. Recognized Organization will submit upon completion of the statutory survey the CIC questionnaire duly signed/stamp by Master to IMMARBE’s Technical Department (technicalservies@immarbe.com).

d. The above instructions will remain in force during the three months of the inspection Campaign on Fire Safety.

3. Owners/ managers of Belize flagged vessels are advised to be guided by above and ensure compliance.
